About Activa IM-Nail™
Activa IM-Nail™ introduces a new intramedullary nailing technique, respecting the insertion principals of traditional intramedullary nailing. The big difference is that the child and the family avoid protection needs for the skin protruding nail and unnecessary visits to the removal operation after 3-6 months from the operation. Activa IM-Nail™´s revolutionary TCP-tip offers insertion in fluoroscopy guidance, thus making the insertion comfortable and familiar to the user. The TCP-tip is also fully bioabsorbable, like to whole Activa IM-Nail™. There is no need for colossal product inventory as you can adjust Activa IM-Nail™ anatomically to the desired length after the insertion.
You can find the same familiar Activa™-product features: patented grooved design and Self-Locking SL™, from the Activa IM-Nail™. The mechanical strength of the Activa IM-Nail™ together with cast immobilisation enables stabilization of the fracture. Activa IM-Nail™ has a load-carrying capacity for at least 8 weeks to support to the healing tissue until it has achieved its original function. Therefore, Activa IM-Nail™ continues to support the healing even after the cast removal.
