Why this technique?

The patient avoids long-term complications and hardware removal.

After the healing, bone replaces the implant. This is done without stress-shielding, a loss of bone strength which is a characteristic of metal implants.

You can achieve good compression to the fixation area, as the implant offers added compression by shortening lengthwise 1-2 % in human body conditions.
