Bioretec offers two individual product lines: RemeOs™ composed of magnesium-based absorbable metal alloy, and Activa made of poly L-lactide-co-glycolide copolymer (PLGA 85/15), a self-reinforcing biopolymer. PLGA is a material with a longstanding history in medical applications.
RemeOs products are used in orthopedic surgeries, specifically for fracture fixation and bone repair. Activa products instead are used in the fixation of bone fractures, osteotomies, arthrodesis, bone grafts, and osteochondral fractures, when appropriate immobilization is applied.
Bioretec products are biocompatible and absorb into the body in approximately two years. Depending on the product, they are either FDA-cleared or CE-approved.
